Institute 0-1 Cliftonville

Eddie Patterson’s Cliftonville side picked up only their second win of the league with a goal from Rory Hamill in the 69th minute at Institute, but it was enough to propel the Reds into a coveted top six position.

Institute 1-1 Ballymena United

Institute came from a goal down to earn a draw against Ballymena United despite having a player sent off for the third time this season.

Kevin Kelbie had given Ballymena the lead in the 53rd minute but Institute substitute Calvin Mooney equalised with in the 75th minute. Ruairi McClean's red card for retaliation three minutes later meant an anxious final period for the home team but they held firm to secure a point and leave Roy Walker still searching for a first win

Ramsey In

Institute manager John Gregg has signed Finn Harps striker Kevin Ramsey  on a one year deal and John is delighted to have him back at the club.  Unfortunately, Kevin is likely to be missing for a few weeks after undergoing surgery for a hernia problem.

Institute 2-1 Coleraine

Institute took the spoils in a hard fought northwest derby at the Riverside Stadium; Neil Harkin had given the home side a deserved lead in the 28th minute and Coleraine’s misery was compounded when Jody Tolan was dismissed after picking up two yellow cards in as many minutes with ten minutes of the first half remaining.

David Ogilby double the home sides advantage early in the second half but Coleraine fought back and Richard Gibson reduced the deficit in the 80th minute. Institute held their nerve over the closing stages and picked up a valuable three points.

Bangor 3-2 Institute

There was a five-goal thriller at Clandeboye Park where Bangor game back from 0-2 to secure an opening win over Institute with a 90th minute Noel Anderson winner.

Bangor must have thought the gods were against them on their return to top-flight football as Institute took a two-goal lead through a Paul Brown penalty double, an own goal from “Stute” goalkeeper Dougherty was followed by a strike from David Irvine, which levelled the scores. The game seemed to be heading for a draw before Anderson sent Clandeboye Park into raptures with his last minute winner.

Bangor v Institute - Preview

NEW-BOYS Bangor host Institute at Clandeboye Park on Saturday as they aim to start their cam JJB Sports Premiership campaign at the third attempt.

Former Glenavon striker Marty Verner and ex-Glentoran man Darren Lockhart should return to the line-up for Marty Quinn’s team while Andy Morrow is suspended.

A Davy Munster goal for Donegal Celtic sent the Seasiders out of the Co Antrim Shield on Tuesday night.

Institute Manager John Gregg has a number of players unavailable for this match - Paddy McLaughlin, David Ogilby and Ryan Semple are all suspended while Mark Scoltock, Declan Devin, Alan Ryan and Ryan McCreadie are all missing through injury.

Stute played out a 1-1 draw last Saturday against Crusaders in the only game to survive the weather in the Premiership.

Ryan Semple opened the scoring for Stute before they were reduced to nine men following the dismissal of Semble and Paddy McLaughlin.

With the transfer window drawing to a close Gregg is hoping to add another signing before the trip to Clandeboye.

"I'm hoping to possibly bring in at least one more new face maybe before Saturday's game," the Stute boss told the Londonderry Sentinal.
"I'm currently looking at trying to bring a striker in from Wigan Athletic, because to be honest there isn't anything about in Ireland."

Institute 1-1 Crusaders

An injury time equaliser from Gareth McKeown rescued a point for Crusaders in the only JJB Premiership game to beat the weather this weekend. Ryan Semple had fired Stute into a 1-0 lead in the 66 minute this despite having been reduced to 10 men following a second yellow card for Paddy McLoughlin on his league debut. Semple went from hero to villlian 10 minutes later when he too saw yellow for a second time to leave the home team with 9 men for the final third of the game.
Crusaders piled forward in search of an equaliser but they had to wait untill virtually the last kick of the game for the McKeown equaliser.
