Newry City 2-3 Lisburn Distillery

Paul Kirk's Lisburn Distilley needed a last minute goal to claim all three points at Newry, the Whites had raced into a 2-0 lead through Cooling and Allen but Newry fought back to level through Clarke and Morgan. The game seemed to heading for a draw until Muir fired in the winner with the last kick off the ball.


Cliftonville 0-0 Lisburn Distillery

Cliftonville fail to find the net for the fifth league game in a row as Lisburn Distilley leave Solitude with a point.

Lisburn Distillery 1-2 Coleraine

Lisburn Distilley manager Paul Kirk was left scratching his head at Ballyskeagh, as the White’s through away a winning position against Coleraine. The home team took the lead in the 7th minute when Darren Armour converted a penalty after Coleraine keeper Davy O’Hare who was red carded for the offence fouled him. Paul Hamilton saw red for Distillery late in the first half to even the numbers on the pitch. Davy Patton headed an equalised a minute after the restart and Gareth Harkin scored the winner for Coleraine in the 64th minute.

Glenavon 2-2 Lisburn Distillery

 

Lisburn Distillery maintained the leadership of the JJB Sports Premiership despite dropping two points at Mourneview Park. Curtis Allen had fired Distillery into a first half lead and Gary Browne doubled the advantage with 18 minutes left on the clock but Stevie McBride’s Glenavon side fought back and goals from Adrian Harper and Davy Larmour sealed a valuable point for the Lurgan Blues. 

 

 Kirk Aims For Top

 

Lisburn Distillery manager Paul Kirk takes his players to Ballymena knowing that a positive result will send them to the top of the JJB Sports Premiership. The Whites are unbeated in the league and enjoyed a 5-2 win over Institute at the weekend. Paul Muir (hamstring) will miss the game but Kirk welcomes back Ryan McCann and Peter McCann

Ballymena Game Rescheduled

 

Ballymena United have re-arranged their home fixture with Lisburn Distillery for next Tuesday (16th September) with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The match was due to be played on the 16th August but the Showgrounds was hit by torrential rain in the run-up to kick-off.

Fixture Change

 

The outstanding league game between Lisburn Distillery and Linfield scheduled for October 7 has now been brought forward to September 23.

 Dungannon Swifts 0-1 Lisburn Distillery

 

Lisburn Distillery moved into second place in the JJB Sports Premiership with a 1-0 victory over lack lustre Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

Gary Browne scored the decisive goal for the whites in the 68th minute to send Paul Kirk home happy.

Lisburn Distillery 1-1 Newry City

 

Gary Browne equalised with  a sensational 40-yard stoppage time volley to earn Lisburn Distillery a point at home to Newry City.

Newry had moved in front after 12 minutes when Kevin Keegan delivered a 25-yard drive into the top corner  past Alex Spackman .

The Whites came within a whisker of levelling seven minutes later, however, when a Neal Gawley  effort crashed back off the upright.

After the break Chris Kingsberry almost levelled for home side only to see his free-kick sail  over the crossbar.  

Tony Anderson, Richard Clarke and Paul Prigent all came close to extending  Newry's advantage before brownes late intervention.

 

Lisburn Distillery 3-1 Cliftonville

 

Lisburn Distillery striker Darren Armour scored twice as the “Whites” bounced back from the disappointment of Saturdays draw with Glentoran to defeat Cliftonville by 3-1 at Ballyskeagh.

The “Reds” had gone into the game on the back of an impressive 5-1 weekend victory over Ballymena United but on the night the had no real answer to the impressive whites who also had Cutis Allen on the score sheet. Davy McAllinden scored the Cliftonville goal on an night best forgotten. 

Lisburn Distillery 1-1 Glentoran

 

Glentoran secured a point at Distillery with a late equaliser from Dean Fitzgerald but the game was surrounded in controversy as referee Hunter dismissed Distillery player Ryan McCann for an innocuous challenge midway through the second half. The home side had taken the lead through Peter McCann but were denied the three points as the ten men just failed to hold on.

 

 

Lisburn Distillery v Glentoran - Preview

 

AFTER two false starts for Glentoran the domestic season finally kicked off at The Oval with Alan McDonald side beating Newington YC in the first round of the Co Antrim Shield.
An opening day hat-trick from Gary Hamilton, together with strikes from Michael Halliday, Darren Boyce and a Daryl Fordyce penalty was enough to secure a safe passage through to the quarter finals of the Shield, despite a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Hamilton’s suspension was cleared by the IFA following last Saturday’s washout against Glenavon.

Meanwhile Whites’ assistant manager Ronnie Cromie – in charge as Paul Kirk awaits the start of his four match ban - says his players can’t wait to get into action.

“We will get started sometime so we will! The players are bursting to get started.

“We have been training for two and half months and only played two (competitive) games but we are looking forward to getting started.  

“It’s frustrating more than anything else - we are training three nights a week for a Saturday and then Saturday comes along and you can’t get out.”
